Lincoln City · Partnership board
Connecting the organisations, services and communities that make up the city.
What we do
Mike Farley and Bryn Joslin are the Community Connectors for Lincoln City, working for Bridge Church Lincoln. Mike leads across the city. Bryn focuses on the University of Lincoln and on connecting students and staff with the wider community.
The Lincoln City Partnership Gathering is an informal, open table for organisations, community groups, faith groups and health, council and education services working in the city. Partners share what they offer, name the gaps they see and connect with people who can help. When something needs more work, a smaller working group takes it on. It is not a crisis line or a referral route. Most gatherings are at Bridge Central on Portland Street, with some joint gatherings with Lincoln City North.
Why it matters here
Lincoln has a lot of good support, but partners told us it is rich but fragmented: not always visible, connected or easy to reach. Information does not move easily between organisations, and smaller groups find it hard to connect with the right partners.
The need is real. Men's life expectancy is three years below the England average and falling, and loneliness is nearly three times as common in the most deprived parts of the city as in the least. Rough sleeping is well above the East Midlands rate. This gathering exists so that the right person, in the right place, can help at the right time.
How it works
People from community groups, parish councils, health services, faith communities and residents get together regularly.
Between meetings we keep a picture of what exists locally up to date, and note the gaps people raise.
When the room agrees something is worth working on, a small group takes it forward and reports back next time.
